My Computer Lab Plant...

I have a new plant in the computer lab I named him Kevin after my brother's middle name. My Southview family bought the plant for my brother's funeral. He passed away this week. I will take care of Kevin the plant making sure he has sunlight and water. hopefully Kevin the plant will enjoy being in the computer lab watching all the kids having fun and being safe online. 

School Day Number 2...

At Southview we have a four day rotation today is the second day of school and we have 172 more days I keep track in the computer lab and the students love to see the number shrink each day. 

1st Day of School...

Today in the Computer Lab, I showed the students from Day 1 the Computer Lab Rules PowerPoint. It had a pirate/ship theme. I assigned everyone their very own computer for the school year and we logged in and made Name Plates. I made K-3 ahead of time. 

I drank a big cup of coffee when I got home from school to wake up. I was tired. 

Open House

Tonight was my first open house at Southview as a computer lab teacher. Lots of students stopped by the lab to say hi and take my summer computer survey. I asked each student what their favorite computer lab activity was and what did they do the most online over the summer. 

Getting Ready for School to Start...

Today I am able to be in the Computer Lab and get to work on the things I need to have done before the first day of school which is 2 days from now.  Wish me luck!

School Closed Today...

I wasn't able to go to the computer lab today because Southview was closed due to all the carpets being cleaned.  So I lost a day working in the lab.  I am going on vacation this week so I will do some work via the Internet.  Do you think the Grand Canyon has Wi-Fi?

I guess we'll find out when the kids whip out their iPod's.
